SAFE TILE™ is a chemical solution designed to increase traction by creating microscopic channels in most hard mineral surfaces, such as; ceramic, granite, porcelain, and quarry tiles and as well, steel type porcelain enamel bathtubs.
THE SAFE TILE™ Anti-Slip Floor Safety product is a colorless, odorless and completely undetectable non-toxic treatment and combined with the Neutralizer Solution, it becomes biodegradable. Yet it dramatically increases the slip resistance (coefficient of friction) by permanently modifying the floors surface making your floor safer wet than when dry.
THE SAFE TILE™ process is simple yet very effective, (we clean, we activate, we neutralize) the SAFE TILE™ solution is applied to the clean floor, agitated on the surface, and then removed from the area. As soon as the surface dries, it’s ready for normal traffic.
SAFE TILE™ IS NOT A PAINT OR A COATING, it is a treatment and therefore will not wear off. It is invisible to the naked eye and undetectable to touch, the surface is virtually unchanged when dry. Making SAFE TILE™ the product of choice, for many establishments in every industry segment including residential communities.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
When you step in water or oils on non-porous hard mineral surfaces, you are actually hydroplaning on a film of water or contaminants.
The SAFE TILE™ treatment system creates microscopic channels for the water and oils to be disbursed from under foot. This allows your footwear to make contact with the surface of the floor at all times. When dry the surface is virtually unchanged.
SAFE TILE™ INSTANTLY INCREASES TRACTION TO MOST ALL EXISTING TILE SURFACES
What is the Coefficient of Friction (COF)?
It is a way to measure the traction of a walking surface, industry experts have agreed on two ways which have been adopted by ASTM, OSHA, ADA, CFIA, Canadian and U.S. Government industrial safety standards.
Static coefficient of friction (SCOF) is the force needed to make a still object, such as a shoe, lose its grip and begin sliding sideways.
Dynamic coefficient of friction (DCOF) is the force needed to make an already moving object lose traction as it touches the surface.
In either measure – SCOF or DCOF – we get a number between 0 and 1. A zero would be closer to the ice rink. Traction level 1 is more like a syrup-sticky cinema floor.
A SAFE TILE™ Treated surface has a (SCOF) 0.6 – 0.8 or a corresponding (DCOF) 0.5 – 0.7
